Pediatric Neurosurgery
Pediatric Neurosurgery is the surgical subspecialty that diagnoses, manages and treats a wide array of conditions affecting the children’s central and peripheral nervous systems and their supporting structures. After obtaining a medical degree and undergoing rigorous training during a 7 year neurosurgical residency, the pediatric neurosurgeon undertakes a pediatric neurosurgery fellowship to ultimately achieve subspecialty board certification. Treating children is not treating little adults. Children have a unique body composition and their own set of unique issues, problems and challenges.
