Dr. David M. Yates

Dr. David F. Jimenez developed the endoscopic surgery technique to treat craniosynostosis. During his time in El Paso, he worked with Dr. David M. Yates, performing over 200 endoscopic craniosynostosis surgeries together. Dr. Yates now has one of the world’s largest experiences performing this procedure. He is passionate about craniosynostosis surgery and was the surgical partner and close friend of Dr. David Jimenez MD, FACS during his time in El Paso. They loved working together, making a difference for kids with craniosynostosis.
Dr. David Yates MD, DMD, FACS is a board-certified, fellowship trained Craniomaxillofacial Surgeon and was recently awarded the inaugural “Physician of the Year” award by El Paso Children’s Hospital. He was also selected as a “Diplomate Making a Difference” by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons. He is the Division Chief of Cranial and Facial Surgery at El Paso Children’s Hospital and has been critical in bringing complex craniofacial surgery to the region. He directs the craniofacial clinic at El Paso Children’s Hospital and is the Fellowship Director of the El Paso Cleft & Craniofacial Fellowship. He served on the national committee for Cleft, Craniofacial, and Pediatric Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and has numerous publications in the areas of craniosynostosis and cleft lip and palate. He has been featured in multiple news stories about the children he has impacted. He gives numerous presentations at different conferences internationally and has operated on kids from all over the world. He is happily settled with his wife and four kids serving the greater El Paso/Las Cruces/Juarez region.
